Ben E. Fisher Park lies in northeastern Travis County, approximately seven miles east of Austin. This small rural park has been owned by Travis County since 1984 and was named for Ben Edward Fisher (b.1933 – d.2009), social worker and former director of the local community center. Gilleland Creek runs along the northwest corner of the park, which is primarily open grassland.
